Position Overview
The Town of Ashland’s Parks & Recreation Department is seeking an enthusiastic and community-minded work study student to assist with a variety of projects and daily operations that support Ashland’s growing parks and recreation system. This position offers valuable hands-on experience in recreation programming, public engagement, event management, communications, and municipal operations—ideal for students interested in public service, community development, communications, or recreation management.
Primary Responsibilities
· Program & Event Support: Assist the Parks & Recreation Manager with planning, coordination, and delivery of recreation programs, community events, and seasonal activities.
· Park Operations: Conduct park and facility inspections; assist with maintaining inventory and tracking maintenance needs.
· Customer Service: Respond to public inquiries about facility rentals, pool memberships, recreation opportunities, and park amenities.
· Communications & Marketing: Gather and share content (photos, descriptions, highlights) with the Town’s Communications staff to promote parks and recreation programs on the Town’s website and social media.
· Team Collaboration: Work closely with Town staff to ensure events and programs run smoothly and reflect the Town’s commitment to exceptional service and community engagement.
